solar panels : environment - "Adding Value For Environmentally Friendly Projects"

By: E. Woodroof Ph.D

It is important to know how to deliver the value in the green space that is always changing. "Green power" and green mindset and technologies are pervasive and no one source is absolute in ttheir knowledge to add value. Environmental skills and expertise are expanding every day. For example: energy efficiency, water efficiency, green janitorial, LEED Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, recycling, transportation, etc..

Learn all you can, then collaborate with other professionals (who are also actively learning) and the value available to your clients' increases exponentially. It is important to be open to new ideas and fresh perspectives in this process. "Mind-Sharing" or brain-storming techniques can facilitate the process and maximize the number of useful ideas. Education is cost effective. Doing things like joint venturing and collaboration are not only cost effective but they are typically the fastest ways to profits.

Additional methods to bring more value to a project include:

Reciprocal Business Agreements

Joint Venture Opportunities

Utility and Free Tax Rebates and Incentives

2 Way Business Agreements:

Here is an example: In being given a $1,000,000 service contract for a rental car company the deal was enhanced with a contract on our part to secure that rental car company while traveling and this agreement delivered over $1,000,000 in additional car rentals.

In this case the client was landing an additional $1,000,000 doing business with us vs. the cpmpetition. Are there professionals, colleagues, partners and suppliers you could generate reciprocal relationships with? Can you match a client and a supplier who would benefit from each other? Can you offer support to make each more green?

Another Example: We helped client #1 supply green solutions to client #2. Both clients were extremely happy to generate more sales / save money. When it was time to approve our next round of projects, there was little resistance, because we had helped them earn / save far more than the costs of the proposed projects. This illustrates the value of being the "trusted advisor".

Joint Ventures:

Example: An "environmentally friendly travel agency delivers half of its commissions back to customers in exchange for their travel business. The client opts to use this "found money" to cover environmentally friendly projects, social programs or scholarships. When the agency guarantees rock bottom pricing it doubles its revenue since it provides more value to customers via JV's (Joint Ventures).

Free Tax and Utility Rebates and Incentives:

For Example: In California, 50% of a solar project was funded by federal and state rebates. Utility incentives lowered the installation costs even further. There are numerous free tax and utility incentives available, and some are discussed in the next section.

We want some of these techniques to get your project approved. As you can see in the images the ices is disappearing quickly and our children are counting on you to make a difference.
